Just when you thought that the trend for releasing Facebook smartphone had died off, Motorola has officially released a new phone with a dedicated Facebook key in Peru. According to TheDroidGuy, Motorola have launched the Motokey Social Facebook phone over in South America.
New Motorola Facebook phone launched
Facebook is of course the popular social network app that we have come to either love or hate. HTC launched their own Android phone dedicated to Facebook a long time ago and it was snapped up by fans of Facebook who were addicted and just had to update their profile every few minutes (HTC Cha Cha & HTC Salsa).
This time around, the Motorola phone is said to have a QVGA touch screen measuring 2.4-inches and offering 320×240 pixels and a full sized QWERTY keypad. This of course is essential for anyone who needs to keep updating their Facebook status. There is no mistaking the dedicated key to launch the Facebook app as it looks the same as with the blue background and white letter “f” in lower case. To get into your account all users have to do is press this key and up pops Facebook.
Like most regular phones, it does come with an SD card slot which has support for up to 32GB. On the downside it comes to out of the box with only a 2GB card. It does also have a 3-megapixel camera which allows the uploading of small file size images directly to the Facebook app.
‘Buffy’ – Facebook’s iPhone 5 clone
On a side note, rumors have popped up that Facebook themselves are working on a Facebook smartphone of their own. Dubbed “Buffy”, Facebook has supposedly hired half a dozen Apple engineers to work on it, hence why many tech pundits are calling it Facebook’s version of the iPhone 5. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
