We had a pretty amusing experience here whilst undertaking a hands-on review of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Siri, S Voice, is a feature of the Galaxy S3 and we began our interview by asking the standard questions that you would expect to ask on a day-to-day basis, such as the weather forecast, driving directions, etc. After exhausting these, we decided to ask a question that we are often asked ourselves… “What is the best smartphone?”
Samsung Galaxy S3 says HTC 7 Trophy best smartphone, may need to rig answers like iPhone 4S
S Voice’s response was unexpected – it informed us that the HTC 7 Trophy is the best smartphone. This differs from the response from Siri on iPhone 4S, who states the Nokia Lumia 900 as the best smartphone.
The reason the Samsung Galaxy S3 said the HTC 7 Trophy, which is now rather out of date, is because it used Best Buy US to state the best rated phones. The list of course did also include the Nokia Lumia 900 and the iPhone 4S.
We are sure that once they have twigged, Samsung will change the settings of S Voice so that it does state the Samsung Galaxy S3 as the best smartphone, as Apple did with Siri, regardless of its Best Buy US rating. If you ask the iPhone 4S and Siri what’s the best smartphone, it now simply says “the one you’re holding”.
