With the ridiculously strong curved Gorilla Glass by Coring, as a display screen for the HTC One X, you may expect the screen to be pretty hardwearing. However, this video shows that the Gorilla Glass is even stronger than you may have imagined. Although it does not claim to be completely unbreakable, it seems pretty close. The strengthened glass is seen being used as a hammer, and really does show that the One X is a strong rival for any Samsung phone that claims to be hardwearing i.e. the Samsung Galaxy S3 which states its ‘plastic looking’ exterior is in fact 300 times stronger than plastic.
HTC One X stress test shows it is tough as nails
For any of you who aren’t familiar with the One X, it is HTC’s flagship phone. It has a Super IPS 4.7 inch screen, a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.5GHz chip, 32GB storage, an 8MP camera. It also runs on Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The HTC One X is getting some great reviews worldwide and is often compared to the also incredibly popular Samsung Galaxy S3.
The HTC One X is also available in the US under the guise of the AT&T One X and Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE. Both have their quad-core processors swapped out for dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipsets which have surprisingly been found to be more powerful. The screen is the same though.
Update: The original video has been removed from YouTube and the creator is suspected to be a Taiwanese HTC engineer. The guy is a professional, so please do not try this at home! We’ve got a screen grab below in case you missed the video that was circulating around earlier today.
