Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Not Waiting For Android 5.0 Jellybean After All

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus who are under Verizon plans could be in for an unexpected update arriving over the next few hours. We joked earlier last week that the reason Verizon maybe holding off from letting out the Android 4.0.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was because they were just waiting for Android 5.0 Jellybean to be announced at Google I/O next month. Now new intel says otherwise (obviously).

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus getting update this week, not Android 5.0 Jellybean (DL)

The reports via Droid-Life (DL) seem confident in the fact that Verizon has bumped the Galaxy Nexus’ version of Android up to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich Today, and urge their subscribers to follow suit.

The lack of an official announcement has left many unsure, however the Droid-Life user who broke the news would have us believe, surely, that the update is headed this way.  The Droid-Life member was apparently shown a Verizon wireless employee’s screen, which showed plans for the update along with the release date.

Until the update is officially announced we suggest not to get too excited, however you may want to be ready (I’m excited anyways).
