With the Samsung Galaxy S3 being officially unveiled earlier last month, there were mixed reactions to what was possibly the most hyped Android smartphone of 2012. In particular, it was criticized for not getting the 2GB RAM, 12MP camera and ceramic case that was speculated. What did come to fruition was the quad-core Exynos processor and 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display.
AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile & Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 may come with 2GB RAM
Well there may be some good news for those waiting for the US Samsung Galaxy S3 variants (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile) which will once again feature slightly tweaked specs over the international Galaxy S3 model that was showcased. While the US Samsung Galaxy S3 may not get the quad-core processor due to possible 4G LTE incompatibility, it may get 2GB of RAM.
The details come courtesy of a recent announcement by Samsung and Japanese carrier Docomo who announced their Samsung Galaxy S3 variant. It too has swapped the quad-core Exynos for a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor to be compatible with 4G LTE but has 2GB RAM versus the 1GB RAM we saw at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in London earlier this month.
Given that there are expected to be 4 different US Samsung Galaxy S3 variants, there is a high likelihood that some (if not all) the US models get 2GB RAM as well. According to Samsung, we can expect the US Samsung Galaxy S3 models to arrive this summer.
