Earlier this year when the HTC One X was announced, many fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on the first quad-core phone on the market.
Rogers hints Samsung Galaxy S3 Exynos quad-core is LTE compatible
Unfortunately, when it arrived in the US, we saw the AT&T HTC One X have its quad-core Tegra 3 chips swapped for a dual-core Snadragon processor. The reason for this was because the chip was incompatible with 4G LTE radios.
Now as we move closer into the summer, the next big quad-core device expected to hit the US is the Samsung Galaxy S3. However just like the HTC One X, there are doubts as to whether the Verizon, Sprint & AT&T variants will remain quad-core when the carriers are supporting LTE networks.
Well if a recent Google Ad posted by Canadian wireless carrier Rogers is anything to go by, the answer is yes – the Samsung Galaxy S3 quad-core chip is compatible with LTE radios. Now we’ve seen rumors of the Sprint and Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 variants reportedly coming with dual-core processors. So if this Rogers ad is hinting anything, it may be that AT&T users might just get lucky and get a quad-core LTE capable phone. As for T-Mobile, given that they are still focusing on HSPA+ it is a shoe-in for LTE and quad-core.
