The Samsung Galaxy S3 was arguably the most anticipated Android smartphone of 2012. With rumors circulating since late last year, it was finally unveiled earlier this week to mixed reactions.
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X & Motorola DROID RAZR HD
While it is certainly a powerful smartphone, it fell short when compared to the rumors floating around the blogosphere. Rumors of a 12-megapixel camera, wireless charging, 2GB RAM, ceramic casing akin to those used in Rado watches, and a flexible AMOLED display were all shot down. With these merits no longer present in the Samsung Galaxy S3, its pedestal is slightly lower now and other upcoming flagship devices don’t look so ‘harmless’ anymore.
In particular we are talking about the HTC One X and the rumored Motorola DROID RAZR HD. Possibly the two biggest rivals that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will face in their title for Android King. On paper, all three Android smartphone have their strong and weak points when compared on paper, with no clear winner. Both the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 boast 8-megapixel shooters while the Motorola DROID RAZR HD will purportedly come with a 12MP shooter. Battery-wise, the Motorola DROID RAZR HD will get the 3,300mAh battery found in the RAZR MAXX and easily trump the competition. All three smartphones will come with 4G LTE capability, 1GB RAM and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded. Screen size are almost identical too, ranging between 4.6-inches and 4.8-inches. If there is going to be a deciding factor, it may be how the different processors perform in real-word situations and how well the different manufacturer UIs (Sense, Blur & TouchWiz) play with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
