If there’s any other unannounced Android smartphone that is garnering up as much hype as the Samsung Galaxy S3 then it would arguably have to be the Motorola DROID RAZR HD.
Going by many names on the blogosphere (DROID RAZR HD, Motorola Blade, Verizon DROID Fighter), it seems to be able to match the Samsung Galaxy S3 in many areas, as well as beat it in some if their rumored specs hold true.

Now if you’re late to the party, let us recap what the Motorola DROID RAZR purportedly packs. Look forward to a 4.7-inch HD display, a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor which is found to be more powerful than Tegra 3 quad-core processors (but Motorola may still opt for a TI processor in the end), Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded with on-screen keys support (the Samsung Galaxy S3 is suggested to retain the physical home button despite having ICS), 13-megapixel rear camera (12MP rumored on the S3), LTE, and a whopping 3,300mAh battery similar to the RAZR MAXX (Galaxy S3 is expected to pack a battery below the 3,000mAh mark).

Thanks to the first leaks on a Hong Kong based forum which revealed its form factor and screen size (pictured below next to the Motorola DROID RAZR), as well as EXIF data from a supposed Motorola employee confirming its 13-megapixel shooter, RAZR HD name and other little details, the Motorola DROID RAZR HD appears to be more ‘real’ than the Samsung Galaxy S3 at this point.
If I had to bet, I would say that what we’ve seen to date about the Motorola DROID RAZR HD is more official than the Samsung Galaxy S3 rumors to date. Here’s hoping Sammy doesn’t let us down and does manage to live up to the hype that it has gotten so far. If not, it will end up being just another top-tiered Android smartphone competing with HTC, Motorola and LG’s flagship devices.
