With still a couple more weeks to go before Samsung officially unveils the device, we’ve already seen the highly anticipated Android smartphone receive limitless buzz and hype that shows no signs of slowing down.
Can the Samsung Galaxy S3 live up to its hype?
With leaked specs boasting a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.8GHz, a whopping 2GB RAM, 1080p display and a 12-megapixel rear camera sensor, we can see why. However has the Samsung Galaxy S3 been setup to fail before it has even been announced?
When leaked specs and the now famous video from Vietnam which hit the web yesterday supposedly revealing the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3, there were mixed reactions. It claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S3 was no major upgrade over its predecessor and showcased 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera. Nothing too amazing. Even its quad-core Exynos processor wasn’t something new given that it already made its way into the Chinese branded Meizu MX Quad-core which was great looking Android phone with a bargain basement price tag.
Its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich build which came preloaded? Nothing amazing here either given that the HTC One X and HTC One S already hit the market with that honor and no longer left the latest update exclusive to the Nexus phones.
Now we’re not arguing that Samsung may have lost their exclusivity now that many of their top “assets” were available on other devices, but more that Samsung has built up such anticipation for the Samsung Galaxy S3 that that people are beginning to expect more than the company may be prepared to offer, and hence set for disappointment.
Do you still want the Samsung Galaxy S3 as much as you did when rumors first broke out late last year? Or are you now waiting on other manufacturers as well to see what flagship products they have set for 2012? Sound off in the comments below.
