With the Samsung Galaxy S3 now expected to be announced on May 3rd at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in London, all eyes are Samsung to see what it has come up with to go against the iPhone. However now new details have come in suggesting that Samsung may have a secondary weapon up its sleeves, a quad-core Windows 8 phone.
The Taiwanese report suggests that the Samsung Windows 8 phone brings with it support for a quad-core processor and higher display resolutions. Now while we do love the Nokia Lumia 900, the single-core smartphone doesn’t stand a chance against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S2 or iPhone 4S. However if you ‘Samsunged’ it with an Exynos processor, Super AMOLED Plus III display, 2GB RAM, NFC, microSD card support and other goodies on top of what Windows 8 is expected to bring, you’ll have a strong contender.
One thing is for certain, Samsung knows phones and their strategy of releasing a wide array of Galaxy branded smartphones is the right way to tackle the iconic iPhone.
Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 & Galaxy Windows Phone 8 to take on iPhone 5 in 2012?
With the iPhone 5 rumored to launch later this year, we may see it go up against the Samsung Galaxy S3, a Galaxy Windows Phone 8 and the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Will it be enough to take on the fruit company? There’s no way of knowing until the specs of these smartphones become public.
