No Samsung Galaxy S3 Until It Clears Up Biggest Foul-Up By Predecessor (Report)

With the title of most powerful smartphone on the market right now going to the HTC One X, you would think that Samsung would want to reclaim some of the spotlight its S3 lost by making some sort of official announcement of its upcoming flagship phone.

However the Korean giant remains quiet even as the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE was officially announced, a US variant of the HTC One X. So what could be the reason for the silence? Reputation.

No Samsung Galaxy S3 until Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich reaches Galaxy S2?

According to a report by PopHerald, Samsung is expected to update all Samsung Galaxy S2 models, before it plans to roll out the Samsung Galaxy S3. The reason behind it is its reputation which was somewhat tainted with the first-generation Samsung Galaxy S and now as Galaxy S2 US models have yet to receive their ICS update:

“Tech bloggers, especially the opinionated ones, agree that Samsung must reach the 100 percent ‘Galaxy S2 with Ice Cream Sandwich’ status worldwide before selling a new flagship device, like the widely expected Galaxy S3, because it is the best way to convince the buying public that Samsung doesn’t abandon customers like other manufacturers,” reports Pop Herald.

Users of the original Samsung Galaxy S were very upset with the fumbles when it came to the roll out of Android 2.2 Froyo for the US variants of the Galaxy S. While many swore to stay away from Samsung after that, the Korean giant managed to build its Galaxy name thanks to securing both Nexus phones (Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus), as well as the wildly successful Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note.

Here’s hoping PopHerald is correct and we get to see the Samsung Galaxy S3 very soon since the Android 4.0 update for the US Galaxy S2 variants is reportedly almost ready.
