While the new HTC One X camera boasts an 8-megapixel camera sensor just like the iPhone 4S and just about every other flagship smartphone on the market (Motorola DROID RAZR, Samsung Galaxy S2, etc), we all know that megapixels aren’t everything. When it comes to taking good quality pictures on your smartphone, a lot of other things matter including the chip, software and other little components manufacturers punch into tiny smartphones.
iPhone 4S vs HTC One X camera
HTC for one boasts a backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor and also state that they have tweaked the camera software to take shots faster than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In fact, HTC’s CEO event went as far as to state that the HTC One X camera is better than that of the iPhone 4S when he attended MWC 2012 earlier this year.
Now of course, it is impossible to tell this and it is best left up to individual judgement given that both cameras actually take great pictures. The folks over at CNET for one have created a comparison and took shots around one of their desks using both smartphones. As noted by CNET, the iPhone 4S has warmer colors.
