While the original Motorola DROID Bionic was highly anticipated but ended up being a major flop thanks to the multiple redesigns, release delays and subsequent bugs that, it looks like Motorola has plans to revive the name this year after all.
Motorola DROID Bionic 2 to joing RAZR flagship phones later this year?
After the Motorola DROID Bionic, the flagship title was taken over by the Motorola DROID RAZR, followed two months later by the DROID RAZR MAXX, and now looks set to be going to the Motorola Blade, another doppleganger of the RAZR range but with a larger display and on-screen keys. Now we may see a new design adopted as hints of a Motorola DROID Bionic 2 have been dropped by Asurion. AndroidCommunity reports:
“For those that have ever had to replace a smartphone after an accidental drop or problem, Asurion is who Verizon uses for their insurance and replacement program. Today the folks at Droid-Life spotted the Motorola DROID Bionic 2 in the Asurion open enrollment forms for people signing up and seeking replacements.” (screenshot below).
If Verizon and Motorola really do plan to launch a Motorola DROID Bionic 2 this summer, would you be interested in buying one? Or are you satisfied with seeing more RAZR variants instead?
