The Samsung Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the most hyped Android smartphone of 2012. While there are many great Android phone choices on the market at the moment (Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus, DROID RAZR MAXX), those who have their sights set on the Galaxy S3 see it as a next-generation smartphone above everything else that is on the market.
The same can be said about the iPhone 5, which will be the biggest rival to the Samsung Galaxy S III. Now though, we have another next-generation superphone to join the race and it has one advantage, it is official and now available for pre-order.
HTC One X to land ahead of Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5
We’re talking about the HTC One X, HTC’s flagship Android smartphone and what looks like the first next-generation smartphone to the market. The HTC One X boasts a 4.7-inch Super LCD HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, quad-core Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with an f2.0 aperture and built-in Instagram style filters, HTC ImageChip, LTE (in some markets), and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a New HTC Sense UI.
Accordign to the IBTimes, you can “preorder the HTC One X from BuyMobilesPhones for approximately $749 (£472) on O2 (UK mobile operator) with a 21 percent down payment and around $24 (£15.50) per month on a two-year contract.”
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been speculated to be announced next month only, followed by a US release further down the line. As for the iPhone 5, if Apple returns to its traditional summer schedule then we should see it announced at WWDC 2012 in June.
