Step Aside Samsung Galaxy S3 & iPhone 5, First Next-Gen Phone Now Available For Pre-Order

At MWC, the Samsung Galaxy S2 beat the iPhone 4S out for the title of best smartphone of 2011. In 2012, the battle for the best smartphone looks set to be between their successors, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5. Both smartphones are expected to better than anything else on the market right now, and will mark the beginning of smartphones with next-generation hardware. However it looks like we may now have another ‘hero’ device in the mix that may actually beat the other two to the market – the HTC One X.

HTC One X will be first next-generation phone to hit stores in US?

HTC has been known to be the first when it comes to introducing new technologies in the US market. They were the first with a 4G WiMAX phone (HTC EVO 4G), first LTE phone (HTC Thunderbolt), and now look set to be the first for Sprint as well who recently adopted LTE (Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus). So we wouldn’t be surprised if the HTC One X will be the first quad-core phone to hit the market.

As IBTimes reports, the HTC One X is now already available for pre-order over at BuyMobilePhones for $750, a UK retailer. We have also seen reports of US variants undergoing testing (the dual-core AT&T LTE variant but not the quad-core T-Mobile variant just yet).

HTC One X now or iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 later?

Will you still wait for the rumored quad-core Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 even if it means only getting your hands on when late into the summer? With JD Powers and Associates recently ranking HTC as the highest satisfying Android manufacturer, we think many folks will give the Taiwanese company a shot over its Korean rival. As for iPhone 5 fans, well that is a different question altogether. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
