New iPhone 5 Gets Supersized In One Area, Diminished In Another (Rumors)

The iPhone 5 is rumored to launch as early as this summer if Apple gets back to its usual WWDC 2012 summer schedule. The good news is that with the release of the New iPad a couple of weeks ago, we can ‘confirm’ that the iPhone 5 will be LTE capable. However anything more than this is pure speculation with almost no basis.

Newest iPhone 5 rumors: Bigger screen, smaller docking port

Given Apple’s tradition, we won’t expect to see any concrete evidence of what the iPhone 5 will have to offer until the actual day of the launch, so that’s where the rumor mill comes in. The latest word mimics what we heard about the iPhone 4S before it launched and hints that the new iPhone 5 will get bigger in some areas, while shrinking in size in others.

4.6-inch Retina Display: The iPhone 5 is rumored to pack a 4.6-inch Retina Display, making it the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and slightly smaller than the rumored 4.8-inch Samsung Galaxy S3. We’re still finding it hard to swallow this rumor as anything above 4.3-inches seems out of the question in our eyes at this time.

Smaller dock connector: The other new iPhone 5 rumor suggests that we may see Apple incorporate a smaller docking port for charging and data transfer. Unfortunately there is no word about whether it will support Thunderbolt.

Have a good weekend folks!
