It looks like HTC will take the crown for being the first non-Nexus phone to begin updating their handsets. While Samsung just announced that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be available for the Samsung Galaxy S2 tomorrow, the folks over at HTC have already started to roll out the update for the HTC Sensation XE.
HTC Sensation XE Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update rolls out
PhoneArena reports, “so far, we’ve received confirmation of the Android 4.0 update being seeded to Sensation XE units in Germany and the Nordic countries, but we expect the rest of Europe to follow soon. Global availability can’t be far away too, knowing the HTC usual practices.”
The HTC Sensation XE Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update also include the new Sense UI (3.6) which we haven’t had a chance to play around with but given that HTC recently stated its Sense UI has gotten a little bloated, we’re hoping this is a stripped down version of the problem.
Now if you want to see if the whopping 300MB sized Android 4.0 update is already available for your HTC Sensation XE, just head over to Settings and check for Software Updates. And don’t forget to be on WiFi if you receive the notification for the update.
