While the Motorola DROID RAZR is one of the best smartphones on the market at the moment, with the release of the RAZR MAXX we have seen the original DROID RAZR take a back seat.
How to replace your Motorola DROID RAZR battery with that of the RAZR MAXX
Furthermore, those who purchased a Motorola DROID RAZR will no doubt be upset that Motorola released the MAXX only a month later with a significantly larger battery. So if you have buyer’s remorse, here is a solution.
XDA senior member Wardo5757 has successfully implanted the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX battery and battery door into the original DROID RAZR. However be warned, it may have some downsides.
As the XDA-Developers blog puts it,”the method does have its dangers, though, and anyone who attempts it should be extra careful in doing their homework before attempting as this could cause serious damage to the phone, battery door, and battery.”
The door is apparently not so simple to open and when you do manage to successfully complete the transplant, there is a small gap in the SIM card door and the battery cover which will mean your RAZR is no longer water or dust resistant.
Full instructions on doing this DROID RAZR transplant is at the source.
