With Apple expected to release a new MacBook Air again this year, the latest reports are now suggesting that we may see two new models added to the current 11.6″ and 13″ options.
Apple looking into producing 14-inch MacBook Air for Asia in 2012 (report)
DigiTimes reports that Apple is considering a 14-inch MacBook Air for the Asian market, on top of the previously rumored 15-inch model. The reason behind the 14-inch option is because this size accounts for as much as 40 percent of sales in Asia. Given that Apple has set its sights on the Asian market, their “fondness for 14-inch models” will be a good place to start.
“The sources analyzed that Apple is currently turning its targets from North American and Europe to Asia, and is eying the China market as its major market since the company still has strong potential in the country… The consideration of a 14-inch MacBook Air would be an indication the company will become even more aggressive about the China market,” reports DigiTimes.
The next generation Apple MacBook Air is rumored to be unveiled sometime this summer and will be powered by Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors.
