We knew MWC 2012 was going to kick off with a bang as the latest Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices were going to launch, but the Nokia 808 Pureview running Symbian Belle OS truly caught us off-guard.
MWC 2012: Nokia 808 Pureview boasts 41-megapixel camera
Boasting a 41-megapixel camera (not a typo people!), this Symbian phone boasts a Carl Zeiss lens, 1080p video recording and audio recording at near CD-quality. In addition to a kick ass camera that will appeal to certain types of photographers only, the Nokia 808 Pureview packs a 1.3 single-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4-inch AMOLED display, Dolby headphone technology that allows users to experience their media in surround sound, and a curved Gorilla Glass screen.
Despite its jutting out camera lens and somewhat thick proportions, the Nokia 808 Pureview was pleasant to hold in my hands at the event. When it launches, it will be available in a host of colors (we have seen white, red and black so far). It has a European release date for sometime in Q2 2012 and a price tag of €450.
So, are you ready to go to Symbian for the beastly camera? Sound off in the comments below.
