Motorola Mobility has been on a roll with releasing multiple variants of its popular RAZR Android phone. Starting off with the plan DROID RAZR, it was only months before MM announced the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX and the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition.
Limited Edition Motorola DROID RAZR restricted to VZW employee accounts?
Now a new RAZR has surfaced and it sports a striking red Kevlar plate along with ‘Limited Edition’ insignia. This particular RAZR, dubbed the Motorola DROID RAZR Limited Edition, is for Verizon employees only and has since been popping up over on eBay as Big Red employees attempt to cash in on the exclusivity.
Well if you were thinking of bidding for one of these then hold on. According to the folks over at Droid-Life, Verizon Wireless will not allow it. The blog suggests that in an effort to keep these Limited Edition DROID RAZR handsets exclusive to employees only, the carrier is keeping track of the ESNs for these specific phones and won’t allow any to be used on non-employee accounts.
So don’t end up with an expensive brick until more details surface. We’ll keep you posted as more intel comes available.
