Half Life fans have gone through a decade-long wait to see a third sequel to the Half Life series. However, there is still no official word from Valve on its development and the fans have been annoyed.
As a result, the Half Life community has been gathering at Reddit as they continue to share their ideas and rendition of Half Life 3. One particular fan-made story became the talk of the week. The Redditor known as Stuff2o shared his version of Half Life 3’s storyline and the community applaud his ideas for the highly anticipated game.
The thread master thought that it is best for Half Life 3 to start with Gordon finding the Borealis and struggles to get the technology inside before the Combine does. The mystery tech got retrieved successfully and it appears to be a time machine which sends Gordon to the period before the Seven Hour War.
Stuff2o felt that it is best for Half Life 3 to go back in time. The entire game will take place before, and throughout the Seven Hour War. Gordon will have the final opportunity to prevent the combine invasion which will secure the future.
However, the Redditor knows Valve would love to give Gordon a victory with bits and pieces of failure. Gordon might prevent the invasion but at the cost of many lives being killed. Nevertheless, it will end like how everything else should; peace.
For a fan, this is some great write-up. It is different, original and has plenty to build upon. With the rumours suggesting that Valve is out of ideas, perhaps they can start digging deeper and take this as a base model.
