GTA 6: Is The US Map Done For?

The success with GTA 5 has led fans to wonder on how a GTA 6 will possibly be like. This future sequel is already teased by Rockstar and with every GTA title, the biggest question is with the game’s location.

Throughout the GTA franchise, there has yet to be a single successful title set outside the US. Rockstar once revealed that the very existence of GTA is to provoke the US pop culture. Flying a GTA game out of the US will simply contradicts to this.

However, it is getting more and more possible now as this ‘Pop Culture’ which Rockstar described is now a norm in most major cities around the world. Putting all the odds aside, let us look at the best places outside the US which is perfect for GTA 6.

For a start, cities in Asia shouldn’t be considered at all. This is due to the many games similar to GTA that are located in Asia. Of course, the mafias, triads and corruption are mostly in Asia and should do great for GTA but it is best to leave the other games with it.

Central Europe on the other hand is too cultural and most countries and cities there preserve their heritage. Such a thing is unneeded for a GTA game. After filtering out many other cities, we’ve realized that London is the ideal candidate.

The English city is full of muggers, hooligans, gangsters, illegal firearms and a powerful law enforcer is the complete package. Since the next-gen console has more firepower to it and taking into account the huge map on GTA 5, expect GTA 6 to do one better.

Perhaps, Rockstar could throw in the city of Paris as well. The US and France often rival with each other and it would be interesting if an American protagonist gets lost in Europe.

While it all might sounded great, the reality is that GTA 6 will still be in the US. GTA 4 was a remake of Liberty City. GTA 5 is a remake of San Andreas.

Based on the pattern, GTA 6 will most likely be set in Vice City. Of course, there is a chance for Orlando to be added as well since Vice City’s map is not that huge on its own.
