The reappearance of TheSurvivor2299.com website has been causing quite a stir over at the Fallout fan base community as the last time we saw the website is was due to a Fallout hoax, but it was connected to development of a Fallout mod of large scale. Speculation about Fallout 4 has been stirred up again but it could be much ado about nothing. Obsidian Entertainment revealed that they are working on a large scale MMO game with the name of Armored Warfare, which is similar to World of Tanks.
Obsidian is the developers that Bethesda tasked to develop Fallout: New Vegas, which came out in 2010 and which was the last game in the series. Armored Warfare is on the horizon, just, along with Pillars of Eternity. However it is thought that Obsidian would not have the manpower to take on Fallout 4 too, which would need the full focus of the team. Fallout: New Vegas was a great game to play and Obsidian managed to do a wonderful job with it. However more than likely Bethesda will handle Fallout 4 in house or they may outsource the game to another developer.
This could be due to the fact that Pillars of Eternity is a large project and it began as a modest idea on Kickstarter, on which is generated more than $4 million in donations. Obsidian chose to increase the magnitude of the project so as to be able to meet the demand. Paradox interactive signed to publish the game, which will follow on from Baldur’s Gate, Planescape Torment and IceWind Dale. This means that Obsidian will have to get things right with it.
Armored Warfare is game that is expected from Obsidian and it does look as though they have a full schedule over the next few years. When it arrives the game will be in competition with World of Tanks, this means that it needs to be done correctly. Obsidian doesn’t have experience in the development of such a game, which means that they are under a great deal of pressure. However from the footage that has been revealed we have to say that the game looks great and in fact it looks a lot better than World of Tanks. Armored Warfare brings a dynamic environment along with realistic physics into the game, which is perfect for blowing up.
