Skyrim DLC has been ceased. Elder Scrolls VI will not be released for another year. What does that spell? It means that it is getting more possible for Bethesda’s Fallout 4 to be the studio’s next big release sometime early in 2014.
The upcoming sequel to Fallout 3 has yet to give us anything definite although there are plenty of rumours and speculations going around the web. One particular rumour that catches our senses comes from Reddit user, GNR_Infromant.
Over at Reddit, the user claims to have a friend who is a Public Relations officer for Bethesda. He further admitted to learning a lot on the game’s development from the conversation he had with the friend. GNR_Informant reveals that the game will be situated in Boston and will reunite a couple of groups into its storyline. This can suggest that Fallout 4 will be a direct sequel to Fallout 3. The user added that the city of Boston will be developed with more cyberpunk and retro-futurism concept, something that is beyond our imagination. He continues stating that “The Institute” will resemble downtown DC or New Vegas in this game.
Unlike Fallout 3, Androids have a bigger role in this sequel. It is also hinted that the railroad from the previous title is a faction which in turn force their enemies, the Plantation, to farm and harvest food for the Human race.
Bethesda is also revealed to expel the Super Mutants and Brotherhood of Steel after being overused throughout the predecessor. On the other hand, a new race is hinted to make an appearance in Fallout 4. The new race will be influenced by Lovecraftian fiction depicting Boston’s identity to be a “Lovecraft Country”.
Ever since a pile load of complains on the similarities of the leveling up system between Oblivion and Fallout 3, game developer Bethesda is planning for Fallout 4 to be totally different to Skyrim adds the leak. However, the game developer might take something from the latter where skills can level up if you perform certain actions.
While the report by GNR_Informant gets a lot of response on Reddit agreeing with him, it is best if you take the information with a pinch of salt since nothing concrete is out yet.
