The 2013 Nissan GT-R boasts an extra 15 HP from its twin-turbo V6 but the bump in price might have other think twice. The 2013 Nissan GT-R Premium which should be landing in dealerships right about now has its price tag bumped up to $97,820 (includes $1,000 shipping charges), which is $6,870 above the 2012 model.
2013 Nissan GT-R price tag revealed
If the extra $7k wasn’t enough of a shocker, the 2013 GT-R Black Edition has also risen to $107,320, an increase of $11,220 over last year. What does the extra $11k get you? A new dry-carbon-fiber rear spoiler that Nissan claims uses a special coating that lets you actually feel the fiber weaves. Nissan also states that buyers of the 2013 models can look forward to improved suspension for better performance and comfort, as well as a standard backup-camera. But be warned, Nissan says that there are specific maintenance procedures for the special spoiler.
Given that Nissan hasn’t updated the looks of the 2013 Nissan GT-R over its predecessor, the price tag may only appeal to those who truly are after the slight performance gains. As for the 2012 Nissan GT-R, it will no doubt be a good buy right about now, if you can find one.
