If you are thinking about purchasing an SUV you may be considering the Toyota Landcruiser or the Land Rover Discovery. They are both great SUVs and the Discovery is known to be a workhorse and it’s been here 60 years. But which of these two would you go for?
The Land Rover Discovery and the Toyota Landcruiser offer plenty of electronic aids and these will help the driver. They both have air suspensions, low range gearing, differential locks and hill descent control. The Landcruiser also offers cameras as standard.
The Land Rover Discovery offers the Terrain Response System and this is very easy to use as all it means it pressing one button. The buttons on the Toyota are harder to use.
The Toyota Landcruiser offers a third row of seats that are easy to fold down while that in the Land Rover Discovery takes more effort. They both have stability control when it comes to pulling trailers. You can get the Land Rover trailer for £510 and it can tow up to 3,500kg. The Toyota pulls up to 3,000kg and is costs £650.
We choose the Land Rover Discovery as the winner as it cannot be beaten when taking it off the road along with it offering a drive that is smooth and offering plenty of room. The Toyota Landcruiser is capable and it offers lots of equipment, but the cabin is outdated and this does let it down.
