Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs Note 3: Phablet Wars

Samsung might not be the best in the smartphone industry but when it comes to offering the best phablets, they are the brand to follow. Just recently, the Korean manufacturer released the Note 3 and truly, it is superb. Despite that fact, how will it compare to the slightly older Galaxy Mega 6.3?

The first major difference between the two is the screen size. Like its name, the Mega has a larger 6.3” screen that runs at 233ppi. The Note 3, on the other hand, has a 5.7” display that is also sharper as it runs at 386ppi.

Both devices are equipped with a 3200mAh but it is the Mega 6.3 that drains faster. After all, a larger display requires more juice to operate.

Under the casing, the Note 3 redefines speed as it runs on the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330GPU. The Mega runs on the low-end Snapdragon 400 processor with only 1.5GB of RAM.

This is a mismatch entirely. Obviously, the Galaxy Note 3 is the better of the two. The Mega 6.3 is nothing more than a mid-tier phablet, which is also great in its segment.
