Peugeot 3008 vs Honda HR-V: Which Is Better?

The Honda HR-V is the latest crossover to come onto the market but can it take on the Peugeot 3008?

The original HR-V was revealed more than a decade ago and this was a long time before the crossover concept sprang to life. Today there are many crossovers on the market and the Peugeot 3008 and Honda HR-V are two of the best.

The Honda HR-V does offer a much larger boot than the Peugeot 3008 and this is 512 litres taking on 453 litres. The parcel shelf of the Honda is flimsy but on the good side it has a frame that is elasticated and this means it’s easy to move it out of the way. The split tailgate on the 3008 makes a bench that is useful in the back and there is plenty of hidden space under the floor of the boot.

The Peugeot 3008 and the Honda HR-V doesn’t offer 4WD but there is grip control on the diesel version and if you pay out another £470 you get all weather tyres along with a traction control system that is switchable.

The Honda HR-V is the greener of the two with just 125g/km but if you choose the six speed manual version it goes to 134g/km and this also means that you will have to pay £130 road tax.

The Honda HR-V does come out on top thanks to the back seating which is versatile and the large boot, however the CVT box does let it down a bit but the diesel manual version should be a great contender.

The Peugeot 3008 comes in just after and if the chassis and steering had been better it would have been the winner. The vehicle does offer a great cabin for families and the 1.2 three cylinder engine does pack a punch, but the driving experience leaves something to be desired.
