More Headaches For Honda After Massive Recall

It was about months ago when Honda launched a massive recall that affected hundreds and thousands of its vehicles due to the Takata airbag fiasco. While it might have financially hurt Honda, the recall has been going well and most of the affected vehicles are now free from the airbag issue.

However, Honda doesn’t wish to sit back and relax just yet. Instead, the Japanese automotive firm is playing it safe by expanding on the previous recall.

The new recall was made yesterday and it involves 88,548 units of the 2008 Honda Pilot, 10,868 units of the Civic and 5.454 units of the 2001 Accord. In total, about 100,000 cars are affected as Honda wishes to end the Takata airbag issues once and for all. It also brings the number of affected vehicles to a whopping 5.5 million units.

The new recall was also launched after Honda discovered that the Takata airbags matches the faulty VIN number. For those who are unaware of the issue, it is with the Takata airbags that may be ruptured, thus, carrying a hazard of spraying metal fragments to the people in the car.
