For decades already, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo has served the masses as one of the best cheap performance cars. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi has taken a new direction and they see no further need of the Lancer Evo.
The Japanese carmaker announced that they will be discontinuing the Lancer Evo, once the next-gen model arrives. Known as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final Edition, the car is tipped to be coming with an exhilarating performance as it looks to end the sports lineage with a bang.
The next-gen Lancer Evo will be powered by a newly developed 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is teased to come with 296hp but this can be boosted to 400hp.
In addition to that, the Lancer Evo will be coming with tons of premium features like BBS alloy wheels, Brembo brakes and Recaro seats. Mitsubishi shared that only 1000 units of the Lancer Evo will be produced and consumers can choose from 5 different colours with the car.
