Larger Jeep Renegade Poised For Production?

Fiat and Jeep manage to score big when they joined forces and resources to develop the Renegade and the 500X. Now, it seems that this partnership is about to flourish further as both companies are plotting to introduce a mid-sized SUV.

In Jeep’s terms, the future vehicle will be slotted above the Renegade and below the Cherokee. It will also be replacing the old Jeep Compass and/or the Jeep Patriot. Of course, details on this are still scarce but we can expect more news on the development coming next next year.

Then again, this also makes Jeep less interesting than before as it leaves us questioning on the necessity of offering vehicles in the minimal size gaps between the Cherokee and the Renegade. Jeep could have used their time to focus on developing diesel engines for their existing vehicles.
