Jeep became the centre of attention at Geneva when they unveiled the all-new Wrangler Black Edition 2 and a newly developed engine built for the Renegade.
Focusing on the Wrangler Black Edition 2, the vehicle is based on the Wrangler Sahara but got many changes to its design like the seven slit grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, frontal Jeep logo, headlight trim, rear mirror covers and rear wheel cover.
Furthermore, the Wrangler Black Edition 2 comes with a soft top as a standard and options to add a Mopar fuel cap and a black cover for the spare wheel.
Inside the 4×4, everything is themed in black where the seats are wrapped in leather and there is also an all-new UconnectTM GPS multimedia entertainment and satellite navigation system
There will be two variants of the Black Edition 2 and they are differentiated by their engines. The first is runs on the 200PS 2.8-liter turbo diesel while being mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The second is known as the Wrangler Unlimited and it runs on a 284PS 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar petrol unit paired to a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
Over at the Jeep Renegade, the carmaker introduced a 1.4-liter MultiAir2 petrol unit mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and the Jeep Active Drive integrated traction system. The motor basically generates 170PS and 250Nm of torque.
The engine also enables the Renegade to achieve a faster sprinting time from 0-100km/h in just 8.8seconds. To complete the package, fuel consumption has tremendously improved with fuel ratings averaging at 6.9l/100km.
