It is no secret that Hyundai is producing yet another SUV and this is despite of the poor sales of the Santa Fe and Tucson. Both SUVs from Hyundai has been performing miserably in recent years and this suggests Hyundai should venture elsewhere instead of SUV.
In case you are unaware, both the Santa Fe and Tucson have been seeing a huge dip in their sales across the globe. To make things worse, the lower-end South Korean carmaker Kia is performing much better in SUV sales lately.
The solution is simple. Hyundai need to stop thinking about SUVs already. Perhaps, the carmaker can consider making pickup trucks instead. After all, the SUV segment is already flooded with many vehicles from various makes and it is difficult to see the Santa Fe and Tucson making a sudden break.
Then again, it is too late for major changes since Hyundai is developing a third SUV. In that case, Hyundai must get the vehicle right on every front and use it as an opportunity to kill the Santa Fe and Tucson. Both existing SUVs are simply reflecting badly on Hyundai.
