Ford has really been active in introducing new technologies in vehicles. It all started off when the carmaker developed a system that enables the car to park on its own. Soon, Ford vehicles will be able to detect potholes on the road.
Such a feature is already ready and it is first introduced on Ford’s latest smart-bicycle. The pothole detector can be paired to a smartwatch or smartphone and it will scan the road ahead for potholes. Whenever the cyclist nears the pothole, the handle will vibrate to warn the rider on the pothole ahead.
This feature is now tipped to come on future Ford cars, starting with the next-gen Focus RS. The vehicle will be fitted with a pothole detector and whenever the driver nears a pothole, the steering wheel will vibrate as a warning sign.
With more roads here in the US losing quality, car junkies here will definitely love the feature. Of course, more details on this are bound to surface in the coming months.
