Chevrolet Silverado Or Colorado? The Right Truck For You

Chevrolet has just launched the next-generation Colorado and it is currently the hottest pickup truck on the market. For the consumers however, they find the Colorado too alike with the Chevrolet Silverado.

To identify the right pickup truck for you, we have decided to find out the differences between both vehicles. It isn’t an easy task as both the Silverado and the Colorado are similar in size, have similar interiors, equipped with the same set of equipment and are priced closely to each other.

The first difference we spotted is with the design of both pickup trucks. The Colorado is practically curvier and slightly smaller than the Silverado. The latter, on the other hand, has a more boxy structure.

While the interior might be similar in terms of layout, the design differs between both pickup trucks. The Silverado boxy feel on the outside manage to influence the inside. Everything inside the Silverado is thicker and more rugged. There is also a gap beneath the dashboard for a middle seat passenger to accommodate the space. Speaking of which, the Silverado has more room than the Colorado.

The most obvious differences are with the engines offered on both vehicles. The Colorado comes with a choice of a 2.5L 4-cylinder mill that generates 200hp and a 3.6L V6 mill that develops 300hp. You will also get to choose between a manual and an automatic transmission.

The Silverado, on the other hand, has a 4.3L V6 that produces 285hp and 305lb-fts of torque as a standard. Up one level is the 5.3-liter V8, which makes 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The top-of-the-range model runs on a 6.2L V8 that generates 420hp.

With that being said, the Silverado will make the right choice if you are looking for something durable, bigger and offers high-grade capabilities. Otherwise, there is the Colorado which is trendy and fuel economic.
