For decades already, it has always been about BMW and Mercedes-Benz rivalling each other in the luxury automotive segment. Now, we can easily put Audi in the mix after the German company surpassed the sales of both BMW and Mercedes for the month of April.
In detail, Audi managed to sell 152,850 cars last month. This is basically more than BMW’s 148,896 and also Mercedes 148,072 cars sold. It seems that the mass marketing campaign invested by Audi is finally paying off.
For the past year or so, Audi has been spotted closing the gaps on Mercedes and BMW and it was last month where the carmaker managed to bag more sales than the two heavyweights.
With Audi turning into a real rival, it will be interesting to see how BMW and Mercedes respond. This can only mean well for the luxury segment as the strong competition can only lead to the best cars getting produced.
