Audi A5 DTM: Bad Timing For Debut?

The diesel emissions scandal may be damaging the Volkswagen’s reputation, but this doesn’t stop Audio from releasing its new Audi A5 DTM edition. The car comes with 3.0-liter V6 TDI that can already be seen in the A6, A7 and A8 sedans, and also in Q5 and Q7 crossovers.

The Audi A5 DTM produces 245 horsepower and 427 lb-ft of torque. Through the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the car channels its power to all four wheels. It can go 62 in 5.9 seconds and an electronically-governed top speed of 155 miles per hour.

We cannot help but notice the sporty look of the Audi A5 DTM. The car gets the inspiration for the look from the Ingolstadt’s DTM touring car program. The design includes Mistano red paint, a sportier front fascia, gloss-black trim, special badges inside and out, and 20-inch split-five-spoke alloys.

The interior of the car gets the Alcantara trim, bucket seats from the RS5, stainless steel pedals and the list goes on. The price of the Audi A5 DTM in Germany is €74,540 or about 85k and there will only be 50 units available.
