Apple has finally launched their very first smartwatch as they look to challenge those from Samsung. The Apple Watch comes with tons of features but is it able to challenge the recently unveiled, Samsung Galaxy Gear S?
The latter will be making its debut in October next month and it is going to be bigger than ever. The Gear S will come with a curved screen, for easy application on the wrist. Underneath the panel is a button that will control the smartwatch.
The Apple Watch might not be as huge as the Gear S but it is very wide in size. Apple has decided to give it a rectangular face so that users can zoom in on images and maps easily.
In terms of customizability, the Gear S will be something like its predecessors. It will come with a variety of colours to choose from but nothing more. This is where the Apple Watch triumphs. The Cupertino-based company offers the smartwatch with a choice of two sizes, in three different material options, along with a host of wristband options.
The Gear S runs on the Tizen OS while the Apple Watch operates on the Watch OS. The former comes with features like those on the Android OS. Users can pull down the status bar while also flipping through the apps. The latter, on the other hand, has a menu full of apps that can be zoomed in or out, for the comfort of the users.
All in all, both devices are great but we couldn’t split them apart just yet. Once Samsung rolls out the Galaxy Gear S, we will find out its price tag and thus, completing the comparison. As it stands, the Apple Watch is the more desirable wearable.
