Back in the 1989, there was a huge craze for the Volkswagen Golf Rally. Now, it is confirmed that VW is attempting to restore the same atmosphere with the upcoming Golf R Facelift after the German carmaker shared that the future sports hatch will be inspired by its concept from the last Beijing Auto Show.
If car junkies are to observe the study, it wears a yellow paintjob like the old and classy Golf Rally. Furthermore, the Golf R facelift will also be featuring a silver-themed interior that will set the disco mood.
Aside from that, the VW Golf R will be built on the Haldex 5 AWD system that is powered by a 2.2L turbocharged engine. This is paired to a 7-speed DSG transmission that will handle the 292hp developed by the engine. With such a rig, the Golf R Facelift will certainly be able to sprint from 0-62mph in about 3.9seconds with ease.
All in all, the Gold R Facelift will certainly be an exciting vehicle worth looking out for. The car is expected to make its debut next year in 2016 and it will look to be the most powerful sports hatch ever.
