Later this year, Smart will be looking to launch the all-new ForTwo and the vehicle will be featuring a brand new design. The ForTwo concept has already been unveiled at the latest New York Auto Show and back then, Smart also spilled more beans on the micro-car.
For starters, the ForTwo is going to be powered by a newly developed 0.9L turbocharged engine that is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There will also be a 5-speed manual transmission coming as well but it will be offered as an alternative option.
In figures, the ForTwo is going to generate 89hp in total. It might not sound like a lot but considering that the ForTwo is made for the city and has only 0.9L to offer, 89hp is really impressive.
The other special perk to the ForTwo is its new wheel turning radius that is going to be even tighter than before. The ForTwo will also be completed with a host of new technologies like the Crosswind Assist tech.
Then again, it is unsure if this is enough for the ForTwo to make it big when released. After all, the last Smart car turned out to be a flop since most consumers perceived it as a really expensive car. Will the upcoming ForTwo make it, or break it?
