2016 Nissan Maxima: Head-Turner Missing From Concept

It is no secret that Nissan is currently busy producing the next-gen Maxima and unlike the last model, this upcoming sports car will return to Nissan’s 4DSC architecture. The latter was basically introduced back in the late 80s and it stands for ‘4-Door Sports Car’.

Now, the world can get a better look at this element of the past coming to the new Nissan Maxima after spy shots of it got shared on the internet. The spy shot shows the 4DSC being tested and comes with thick camouflage.

It might be difficult to pinpoint the Nissan Maxima’s styling at this point but judging from its shape, size, headlamps, taillights and air vents, the car seems to be toned down from the Sports Sedan Concept that was unveiled at many motor shows last year.

This is particularly evident with the front grille. The spy shots show the Maxima getting a simple and small grille. There appears to be no sign of the large grille with illuminations like how it was on the Sports Sedan Concept.

Under the hood, we can expect the Maxima to come with multiple powertrain options that consist of hybrid and supercharged motors. Of course, that has yet to be revealed by Nissan.
