Samsung Galaxy Note 4 & S4 Android 5.0 Lollipop Arrival Update

Google will be releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop in days from now. Following that, other phone manufacturers will follow up by tweaking the Lollipop for their smartphones. Samsung, in particular, aims to be an early bird in offering the new OS to its devices.

Late last month, Samsung revealed that they will be releasing the Android 5.0 update in mid-November onwards. With the way things are shaping up, we don’t expect this to happen. While Samsung might not have announced it but it is safe to assume that the Lollipop will be pushed out somewhere in mid-December.

This is pretty predictable after witnessing how Samsung handled the KitKat update last year. Also, it is very clear cut that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be the first devices to get updated with the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Obviously, the update will be rolled out in South Korea first before reaching out to the US, UK and other regions in that order.

As for the Galaxy Note 2 and the S3, we don’t expect them to get the update since their support cycle has ended. In fact, any devices that are beyond 18-months of age will surely be axed from the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
