2016 Nissan GT-R To Be More ‘Electrifying’ Than Ever?

Isn’t it great to have the Nissan GT-R in electric version? European EV Director, Gareth Dunsmore said to Top Gear that it would be great to have the electric GT-R, but not now certainly.

According to Dunsmore, there are still many steps to be taken before the Nissan GT-R can go fully electric. Furthermore, Nissan and its team need to verify that an EV can really bring the best performance to the cars. In other word, it should be able to beat other cars.

This is not something new. Before this, in 2010 Nissan was reportedly having the idea of making the Nissan GT-R into an EV. The concern then was the tightening emission standards that might silence the Godzilla.

We’re wondering how fast can the car go if it is to be an electric car. It might be too advanced for the Nissan GT-R to be electrified in 2010, but now, it’s not impossible at all.
