According to our sources, President of Toyota Motor Corp Akio Toyoda has revealed that he has no plans for having the 2016 Lexus RX crossover in the US market.
He stressed that the Lexus crossover would be out of the plan (for the moment) and that they would be introducing other models following the sequence. The focus of Lexus would be upon enhancing the brand value; being sold to be positioned as emotional and cool. But Toyota is a whole other different story, where they aimed towards family and convenience values.
Our verdict is that the Lexus RX is already pretty good on its own; spacious and classy in a whole. We won’t be surprised if they wouldn’t be upgrading to fit US consumer needs because maybe Lexus might have even better plans for the future. Who knows?
