Later this year, Honda will be looking to launch the next-gen Pilot and the vehicle is going to be built on the newly-developed platform which is used to develop the Acura MDX.
With a new foundation in place, the Honda Pilot is expected to come out with a new design. If you are to check out the last New York Auto Show, the concept model suggests that the upcoming Pilot is going to feature a boxy structure, together with more overhangs on the back.
Then again, the next-gen Pilot does in a way look like the latest Honda Accord. Heck, both vehicles do look identical except that one is an SUV while the other is a mid-sized sedan. It is as if, Honda has transformed the Accord into an SUV just so they could sell it as the next-gen Pilot.
Of course, that is just our assumption on the matter. When the future Pilot arrives, it is going to come with a 3.5L V6 engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is expected to come with the option of either AWD or FWD.
