2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost 4-Cyl vs. V6: Better Engine Wins

Ford has done a great job with the release of the 2016 Ford Mustang, but has made people question its decision with the choice of its Ford Mustang’s engine. The car comes with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, instead of using the 3.7-liter V6 engine.

Overall, the EcoBoost can go from 0 to 60 mph below six seconds, and the turbocharged piece delivers 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. However, it does not sound like what you would get from a Ford Mustang, although Ford tries to intensify engine sound through the car speakers.

The 3.7-liter V6 engine, in contrast, has 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque which can go from 0 to 60 sprint of speed. The V6’s sound quality is also way better than the EcoBoost.

The EcoBoost, as the name proposes, has better fuel efficiency. It goes at 30mpg on the highway, but only 28mpg for the V6. As the argument continues whether which of these engines are better, there are several who would ditch both of them for the Ford Mustang GT350 V8. The choice is theirs, anyway.
