2016 Chevy Volt Facelift And The Secrets Behind Its Camouflage

Carmakers have had a tough time with every vehicle they produced, especially when testing the prototype. They have to wrap the vehicle in camouflage to prevent any information from leaking out but at the same time, carmakers want to evaluate the vehicle without any hindrance.

The only carmaker to overcome this issue is GM and its fleet of companies. Chevrolet, in particular, has been testing the Volt Facelift with ease thanks to the new method of camouflaging.

GM bragged about it and revealed that they utilized certain visual elements that will hide as much detail as possible. This includes black and white patterns, 3D layers, swirls and bubble wrap to confuse the viewers on the real shape of the vehicle.

Furthermore, GM explains that the camouflage will constantly be revised instead of being recycled for other testers. If there is a flaw, the designers will work to update the camouflage visual elements. The company concluded by saying that the camouflages are unique and tailored to each car.
