2015 VW Passat CC Review: Packed With Tons Of Features But Lacking In Common Offering

Late last month, Volkswagen launched the all-new Passat CC and it undoubtedly one of the best-looking compact mid-size sedan in the world. The car came out with 4 trim levels and they are discovered to be the Sport, R-Line, Executive and AWD 4-Motion Executive.

Prices for the Passat CC starts at $32, 865, thus, confirming that the sedan is still an affordable car to own. Yesterday, we got behind the wheel of the Passat CC Sport and were treated to a delightful driving experience.

The car we tested runs on a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that develops 200hp and 207ft-lbs of torque. The Passat CC is driven with a direct shift 6-speed Triptronic automatic transmission which enables it to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 7 seconds.

In addition to that, VW is very generous in giving away many features as a standard for the Passat CC. We were treated to paddle shifters, special sport tuned independent suspension, 18-inch all-season tires on alloys, exclusive front sport bumpers, side skirts and inlayed scuff plates.

There are plenty of other features worth mentioning like leather interior, rear view camera, touchscreen navigation, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, heated power front seats with lumbar, rain sensing wipers, fog lamps, eight speaker stereo with MP3, Bi-Xenon headlamps, and much more.

When on the road, the Passat CC handles itself like a luxury car. It throttles smoothly as the horsepower gets pumped generously through the automatic gearbox. Knowing that the Passat CC is well proportioned, it does not giveaway or rolls when hitting the corners at high speed. This is also partly thanks to the “tuned for handling” four-link rear suspension.

For an average German car by Volkswagen, the interior offers an exquisite layout that gives both drivers and passengers a peaceful ambience. On the downside of things, the Passat CC lacks an adaptive cruise control. With an automatic transmission on board, it can get pretty boring when travelling long distances.
