It will be an interesting year ahead for pickup truck lovers here in the US as both Toyota and Ford are looking to launch the next-gen Hilux and F-150 respectively to challenge the Chevrolet Colorado. The Hilux, in particular, is getting a lot of attention since it is said to be a magnitude better than its predecessor.
Now, new rumours have surfaced suggesting that the Hilux is also going to be larger in size. The Japanese pickup truck is teased to come with American DNA, thus, explaining why it boasts so many muscles on its framework. The design too has changed as the Hilux is confirmed to come with horizontal chrome bars resting on the grille.
To complete the package, rumours are pointing out that the Hilux will be towed by a three different engine options. The first is a 2.5L diesel, the second is a 3L diesel and the top-of-the-range model will run on the 4L V6 engine. Regardless of their large capacity, all three engines will be finely tuned to be fuel efficient. After all, that is core for the Hilux if they wish to challenge the Colorado.
Of course, the above are based on rumours so it is best to take it with a pinch of salt. The certainty is that the Hilux is going to be different from before and it will be rivalling both the F-150 and the Colorado.
